About the Role
We are seeking skilled and enthusiastic Casual Tech School Mentors to support the delivery of future-focused STEAM and Project-Based Learning experiences at the Banyule Nillumbik Tech School. You’ll play a key role in engaging students with technology, fostering mentoring relationships, and supporting the daily operations of the Tech School.

This is a great opportunity to contribute to innovative educational programs, support student development, and work collaboratively in a dynamic learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
Engage participants using technology and their own interests
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues
Encourage social connection and confidence among participants
Facilitate programs, games, and technical skills when requested
Assist students and staff in operating and managing design technology
Support the maintenance and safe use of technology and equipment
Promote a culture of child safety and wellbeing
Comply with health, safety, and wellbeing policies and procedures
Skills and Experience Required
Studying or completed tertiary qualifications in a STEM field
High-level knowledge of digital design or digital media development
Experience mentoring or coaching student-aged children
Ability to support self-directed and project-based learning
Experience with technologies such as:
Adobe Illustrator / vector design
Autodesk Fusion / 3D design
Virtual Reality
Figma / web design
Photography, video making, podcasting
Electronics, block programming, sewing
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Organised, proactive, and collaborative approach
Additional Requirements
Successful candidate will be required to provide:

A valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC)

A National Police Check
