About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nursing Coordinator to join our team at the new Cranbourne Community Hospital (CCH).
This leadership role is pivotal in ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient patient care. The Nursing Coordinator is the senior clinical and operational leader on site, overseeing nursing resources and patient flow, and acting as the key point of escalation for clinical and non-clinical risks.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordination of bed management and patient flow across the site
Site emergency management and acting as Emergency Controller when required
Escalation of clinical and non-clinical risks to the Operations Director/Director of Nursing
Effective and efficient management of resources to achieve high standards of nursing care
Supporting nursing teams and leading staff across shifts in line with Monash Health’s values and strategic directions
About You
You are an experienced nurse leader with proven ability to manage clinical services and teams in a dynamic healthcare environment. You bring extensive leadership, operational, and clinical expertise, along with a collaborative and person-centred approach.
You will also bring:
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
Extensive clinical, managerial and leadership experience
Demonstrated skills in emergency and risk management, patient flow, and resource coordination
Post-graduate qualifications in nursing leadership/management (or working towards, desirable)
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
A commitment to continuous quality improvement and patient-centred care

CCH is a key part of Monash Health’s Hospitals and Clinics Division, designed to support the growing needs of Melbourne’s south-eastern community. The Nursing Coordinator role will rotate across extended day coverage (6am–8pm), providing leadership and oversight to ensure safe, effective, and efficient operations.
You will work closely with:
Consumers, carers and families
Site Operations Director and Director of Nursing
Patient Flow leadership team
Clinical and support staff across CCH
External stakeholders including GPs, Ambulance Victoria and other health services
Upon your appointment, we will also provide you with;
A supportive and cohesive sub-team, working within a larger consumer relations team.
Opportunities for you to use your experience in the role to inform and drive initiatives within the broader units and programs.
