Café Manager – Hands On Role
Chapel Hill, Brisbane

We’re a small, community-focused café with a passion for great coffee, wholefoods, and friendly service. We’re looking for a hands-on Café Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys leading by example.

About the Role
This is not a desk job – as our Café Manager you’ll be on the floor, working alongside the team to deliver an exceptional customer experience. You’ll balance day-to-day operations with leading and motivating staff, ensuring the café runs smoothly and efficiently. This role is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 1 weekend day a week.

Key Responsibilities

Lead daily operations including opening/closing, staff supervision, and service standards
Work hands-on in the café across front-of-house and support in the kitchen when needed
Manage rostering, stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships
Train, support, and motivate staff to create a positive team culture
Monitor sales, costs, and targets to help the café remain profitable
Uphold food safety, hygiene, and workplace health & safety standards
About You

Previous hospitality or café management experience
Willing to be “hands on” - Experienced in coffee making
Strong leadership and communication skills
Organised, reliable, and able to multitask under pressure
Passionate about great food, coffee, and customer service
Flexible availability, including weekends
Interest in social media
