Job Summary:
Olympia National School, Vishrantwadi, Pune, is a pioneering CBSE greenfield K–12 institution that blends academic excellence with sports-integrated learning. We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Principal to lead the school’s academic, operational, and cultural transformation while ensuring CBSE affiliation readiness and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic & Administrative Leadership: Oversee all academic and administrative operations of the school, ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning across classrooms, sports programs, and campus facilities. This includes implementing the school’s innovative academic practices (e.g. the no-school-bag, worksheet-based curriculum) to maintain a high-quality, low-stress learning environment.
Staff Supervision & Development: Supervise, mentor, and evaluate all teaching and academic staff. Lead the recruitment of high-quality educators and support their professional development to foster a culture of excellence and innovation in teaching.
Curriculum and Sports Integration: Drive the integration of sports into the curriculum, leveraging our dedicated sports infrastructure to enhance student learning and well-being. Ensure students excel in both academics and athletics by coordinating with coaches and teachers on sports-integrated lesson plans and co-curricular activities.
Strategic Academic Planning: Set clear academic goals and performance metrics for the school. Monitor student outcomes and instructional quality, analyze data, and implement improvement strategies to elevate academic standards and holistic development.
Community Engagement: Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders. Build strong relationships with the parent community and the wider Vishrantwadi/Pune community, and represent the school at important events and forums to strengthen its reputation and outreach.
Academic Calendar & Programs: Develop and manage the academic calendar, integrating instructional days, assessment timelines, staff development programs, and co-curricular activities (including sports and extracurricular events). Ensure a balanced schedule that aligns with CBSE guidelines and the school’s emphasis on sports-integrated education.
Operational Management: Oversee daily school operations and enforce all school policies and procedures. Coordinate with administrative and accounting staff to ensure efficient staff scheduling, prudent budget management, proper resource allocation, and effective facility management across our 5-acre state-of-the-art campus.
Vision & Culture Stewardship: Uphold and promote the school’s vision and ethos as set by the Dnyaneshwari Shikshan Trust. Foster a positive, inclusive school culture that seamlessly integrates academics with life skills, entrepreneurship, and sports. inspiring students and staff to embody these values. Motivate teachers and students to achieve their full potential in line with our mission of holistic education.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the school complies with all local, state, and national education regulations. Align school policies and curriculum with CBSE affiliation by-laws and NEP 2020 mandates, keeping the institution up-to-date with the latest educational directives and pedagogical trends.
Reporting & Governance: Prepare and present comprehensive reports on school performance, achievements, and challenges to the School Board/Managing Committee (Trust) as required. Advise the management on strategic decisions and contribute to long-term planning for the school’s growth (including the upcoming expansion to a new sports-integrated campus).
CBSE Liaison & Inspection Readiness: Maintain effective liaison with CBSE authorities for all matters of compliance, documentation, and inspection. Ensure the school is always inspection-ready – organizing records, academic audits, safety norms, and infrastructure as per CBSE standards – to facilitate smooth affiliation processes and periodic CBSE inspections
Qualifications and Experience:
Master’s in Education or Educational Leadership (M.Ed. / MA Ed.)
10+ years in teaching; 5+ years in school leadership (preferably CBSE)
Strong understanding of CBSE norms, NEP 2020, and school inspections
Experience with new school setups or greenfield projects preferred
Digital proficiency and stakeholder management skills
Budgeting, scheduling, and team leadership capabilities
