SMS Equipment is growing and we’re looking for Resident Heavy Equipment Technicians in Lethbridge to keep some of the biggest, most advanced machines in the industry moving. In this hands-on role, you’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain world-class equipment while working independently in the field. Location: Lethbridge, AB
Rate: $53.49 per hour. After 1 year of service , the rate increase to $56.04 per hour.
Shift: 5x2

Your Role
Perform assemblies, preventative maintenance, repairs, and complete overhauls on heavy equipment.
Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized or other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
Make recommendations regarding extent of repairs and suggest methods of improvement.
Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
Complete job-specific reports and paperwork as needed.
Work safely in challenging environments, including confined spaces, lifting up to 50 lbs., and remote work in adverse weather conditions.
What You Bring
Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification (equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered).
Strong commitment to safety and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment; Komatsu experience is an asset.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with comfort interacting directly with customers and on-site contacts.
Valid Class 5/G driver’s license.
Experience with warranty processes and documenting repairs is an asset.
Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset.
Pre-Employment Requirements
Ability to meet customer site access requirements, including:
Pre-employment medical examination
Drug & alcohol check
Driver’s abstract
Employment verification
