We are a growing CPA firm seeking a highly experienced Tax Accountant with a strong background in U.S. and New York State tax compliance. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced public accounting environment and has a sharp eye for detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns
• Review bookkeeping work prepared by junior staff and ensure accuracy in financial records
• Manage and review sales tax filings and payroll tax compliance for clients in multiple jurisdictions, with a focus on New York State
• Collaborate with team members to support year-round planning and client advisory services
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior accounting staff
• Communicate directly with clients to resolve tax and compliance issues

Required Qualifications
• Minimum 7 years of recent public accounting experience, with a primary focus on tax preparation and compliance
• Proven experience in reviewing bookkeeping, sales tax, and payroll tax filings
• Strong knowledge of U.S. Federal and New York State tax laws and regulations
• CPA license preferred (or in progress)
• Experience with tax software (e.g., ProSeries, Lacerte, or similar), QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
