Summary

We are seeking a Handy Man/Woman to join our dedicated team in the Greater Toronto Area. This role is vital in ensuring that our clients homes are well-maintained and safe for them to live in, and who can help support clients by giving them a sense of pride and independence in their homes.

Ideal for a person who is a contractor and looking for additional work. Should already have their own tools and have experience working in construction, trades, contracting, repairs & maintenance.

This position would be an on-call position, on a per project basis. Hours vary monthly based on work available.

Should have experience with seniors, and/or working with vulnerable people.

Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance tasks to ensure facility safety and functionality.
Conduct repairs on plumbing, electrical, and structural issues as needed.
Assist in installing shelves, railings, ramps, cabinets, safety features in homes.
Maintain inventory of tools and supplies required for maintenance tasks.
Collaborate with team members to identify areas needing repair or improvement.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations during all maintenance activities.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or clients.
Document completed work and report any major issues to management.
Qualifications

Proven experience in general maintenance or maintenance person roles.
Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and carpentry.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety.
Strong communication skills to interact with staff and clients respectfully.
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required.
Comfortable with quoting projects & using apps & technology.
