Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with a focus on corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, and regulatory compliance. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and tools, as well as the ability to analyze financial data effectively. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Perform account reconciliations, including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
Conduct financial analysis, including cash flow analysis and budgeting.
Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports and tax filings.
Support auditing processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Mentor junior accounting staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or PeopleSoft for various accounting tasks.
Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
Analyze financial reports for interpretation of results and trends.
Skills

Strong understanding of SOX compliance, LIHTC regulations, securities law, governmental accounting, and public accounting principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
Knowledge of technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting, debits & credits.
Experience with financial report writing and interpretation for effective communication of financial results.
Familiarity with payroll processing and financial management practices.
Ability to perform account analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate financial reporting.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
