Job description
Role summary

The Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining pipework, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and waste water disposal in all studio buildings and stages across the Group.

Principle accountabilities
• Perform scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems, fixtures & fittings
• Installation and repair of sanitary ware, point of use heaters, showers, etc. in line with manufacturer’s instructions
• Carry out repairs & maintenance including replacing of parts to mains water installations and commercial heating systems pipework, pumps, valves, expansion joints and radiators.
• Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet expectation and standards required in line with manufacturer’s instructions and water regulations
• Pipe fitting / replacement and lagging duties where required
• Assist with fuel deliveries and tank dips if needed
• Work within H&S guidelines to maintain a safe working environment at all times

Nature and scope

The majority of the plumber’s time is spent fulfilling the principle accountabilities.

The plumber works with relative autonomy. They may use experience and judgement to decide on materials, techniques and approaches, but their work is planned and allocated for them. There may be planning horizons of around a week, in line with other work being completed. They may work with internal or external clients as needed.

Skills And Experience

Essential criteria
• Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Plumbing accreditation
• Proven track record working as a plumber in a domestic, commercial or industrial setting
• Knowledge of water regulations
• Understanding of commercial heating systems Inc. unvented hot water systems
• Adept in use of MS Office 2010 or later, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word, Internet and email
• Health and Safety aware
• Must be confident and professional when dealing with customers, face-to-face and via telephone/emails.
• Self-driven, results orientated and a confident communicator.
• Reliable, tolerant, determined and flexible. Keen to develop their own skills and be a key team player.

Desirable criteria
• Gas Safe qualification
• Any other trade qualification
• Commercial industry experience and knowledge of sector.
• Experience with any other relevant trades
• Understanding of heating installations

• Role location: Pinewood Studios

Role Purpose:

A vacancy has arisen for a practical individual to work as a Mobile Plumber. The Mobile Plumbing Technician will also need to be self-motivating. They will be responsible for carrying out reactive and PPM works across the London area in commercial premises and will also be required to liaise and coordinate works with our approved contractors. A good understanding of Building Fabric Services as well as comprehensive knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, being well presented at all times and competent to provide technical advice when required to do so.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• To carry out reactive maintenance repairs across various contracts.
• To assess and order parts and equipment necessary for individual tasks.
• To work to recognised industry standards at all times.
• Logical thinker in fault finding situations
• To participate in flexible working hours and out-of-hours emergency cover as required by the contract.
• To undertake training as required to perform the duties of the role, including health and safety courses and further trade development, to maintain current knowledge and professional qualifications (Continued Professional Development).
• To assist other trades as/when required.
• To undertake any other duties as directed by Managers within the remit of the role.
• To update/close completed Reactive & PPM tasks on our CAFM System
• Ensure engineering standards are maintained in order to maximise efficient operation and reliability of plant.
• To ensure company QA and site procedures are adhered to in all aspects.
• To ensure that both Client and Integral's Health and Safety procedures are followed at all times.
• To inspect the condition of services and proactively deal with call outs/repairs as required and/or requested by management.
• To attend emergencies, inside and outside of normal working hours.
• Keep and maintain all company issued tools in a safe and working condition.
• To assess and order parts and equipment necessary for individual tasks.
• To work to recognised industry standards at all times.
• To undertake training as required to perform the duties of the role, including health and safety courses and further trade development, to maintain current knowledge and professional qualifications (Continued Professional Development).
• To undertake any other duties as directed by Managers within the remit of the role.
• To carry out plumbing tasks, such as toilet and basin repair and replacement, tap and blending valve replacement, fault finding and repair on auto taps, instantaneous water heaters, HW calorifiers, pipework repair and replacement, pump and valve replacement, TRV and radiator replacement, lagging repair and replacement, unblocking of pipework, traps and toilets, gutter cleaning, toilet/sink unblocking, macerator replacement, immersion heater replacement, basic electrical skills would be an advantage.
• Carry out PPM tasks, such as, pump servicing, UVHW calorifier service and inspection, blending valve strip down and service, tap/outlet temperature testing and flushing, instantaneous water heater servicing, AC/AHU filter replacement and cleaning, emergency light testing, functional testing and visual inspection of equipment.
• Provide detailed and accurate reports for any remedial works required whilst attending site
• Updating of on-site log books for compliance purposes
• Completion of any certificates or documentation for works completed
• Complete on site Method Statements and Risk Assessments as necessary

Essential Qualifications & Experience:
• C&G:6035 Level 3 / NVQ Level3 Diploma in Plumbing studies or other recognised qualification or apprenticeship.
• Extensive Knowledge of Commercial Plumbing Systems.
• Extensive Knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations.
• BPEC Water Supply (Water fittings) Regs:1999
• UVHW Certificate
• Legionella / L8 Qualification
• Ability to act on own initiative.
• Smart appearance, presentable
• Must be available for call outs
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work from a smartphone and PDA
• Comfortable working within a team environment. Able to contribute to teams success whilst willingly following instructions
• Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised
• Adaptable and flexible approach to work requirements, willing to accept change.
• The incumbent will be required to adopt a flexible approach to working hours to suit the needs of the public sector. This will require work at weekends and in the evenings. The salary has been set to reflect this.
