Full job description
We’re seeking a dedicated Accounts Receivable Officer to join us on a fixed-term, full-time contract (35 hours per week, 1 year). This role isn’t just about numbers — it’s about supporting residents, families, and our wider community by ensuring our financial operations are accurate, transparent, and reliable. At Northbridge, every role contributes to creating a caring, people-first environment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Finance Assistant, you’ll play an important part in supporting our finance operations, with a focus on accounts receivable.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Preparing and issuing invoices, credit notes, and statements.
Managing debtor accounts, reconciliations, and monthly reporting.
Monitoring overdue balances and assisting with credit control and collections.
Responding to resident, family, and internal queries with professionalism and care.
Processing daily bank reconciliations and ensuring all receipts are correctly recorded.
Assisting with asset management tasks, reporting, and compliance.
Supporting finance system upgrades and continuous process improvements.
What We’re Looking For
This is an ideal for someone with a strong eye for detail and an interest in finance.
You’ll bring:
A qualification in Accounting or Business Studies.
Strong numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Basic knowledge of accounting processes (accounts receivable desirable).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with Xero experience an advantage.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to manage time effectively and work to deadlines.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand (valid visa or permanent residence).
Previous experience in finance administration or accounts receivable.
Exposure to aged care, health, or the not-for-profit sector
Experience supporting system upgrades or projects.
Why Join Us?
Gain valuable experience in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.
Be part of a not-for-profit organisation that values community and care.
Contribute to meaningful projects, including finance system upgrades planned for 2026.
Develop your finance career in a role that offers both responsibility and support.
Bring your accounts expertise to a team that values care, accuracy, and community impact — we’d be delighted to receive your application!
Applicants must have NZ residency or a valid work visa.
We do not accept applications via recruitment agencies
