Job Description

Job Title: Hull QC Inspector

Location: Udupi, Karnataka
Job Type: Contract

Qualification: ITI in Welder / Sheet Metal / Bench Fitter

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Hull QC Inspector to join our quality assurance team in the marine sector. The ideal candidate should hold an ITI certification in Welder, Sheet Metal, or Bench Fitter trade, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in hull structure inspections, preferably in shipbuilding or offshore construction.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform visual inspections and dimensional checks on hull structures and components.
Inspect welding joints, structural fit-ups, and alignment based on approved drawings and standards.
Ensure hull construction and fabrication meet project specifications and classification society requirements.
Identify and document non-conformities, raise NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and follow up on corrective actions.
Coordinate with production teams, supervisors, and other QA/QC personnel.
Maintain and update inspection records and reports accurately.
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards during inspections.
Monitor subcontractors and vendors to ensure compliance with project quality requirements.
Participate in internal and external audits and inspections by clients or classification societies.
Qualifications and Skills:

ITI certification in Welder / Sheet Metal / Bench Fitter (mandatory)
Minimum 2 years of experience in inspection of hull structures (marine experience preferred)
Good knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, FCAW, MIG/MAG) and structural fabrication
Familiarity with marine codes and classification standards
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols
Basic knowledge of NDT techniques (VT, PT, UT is a plus)
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
Effective communication and coordination skills
Job Type: Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: Up to ₹28,000.00 per month
