Job Description
Requirements:
Be available for 15-20 hour work week
Truck driver for food pickup from local grocery stores, Second Harvest, and
restaurants for the Chilhowee Baptist Center
Completion of Food Safety Certification
Transporting food from pickup point to the food pantry in a timely manner is
critical to keeping food from developing bacteria and food borne illnesses
Document origin of pickup, date, category of food, and weight
Promptly ensure food is stored in freezer, cooler or shelf
Most weeks are 15 hours periodically, we get calls from stores that may have
freezers/coolers that are not working and they are willing to donate food to keep
it from going bad. Also, Second Harvest may not be available for a pickup or
have food they want to give to the Chilhowee Baptist Center
Pickup schedule is as follows:
Monday: 8:30am Publix (Maryville), Kroger (Maryville) 11:00am BJ’s
Tuesday: 10:30am Food Lion (E. Broadway, Maryville), Dollar General (Old Knoxville
Hwy, Maryville)
Wednesday: 8:30am Publix (Maryville), Aldi’s (Maryville)
Thursday: 3:00pm Olive Garden (Maryville) If available
Friday: 10:00am Second Harvest, 11:00 BJ’s
Saturday: 10:00 Publix (Northshore, Knoxville)
All pickup start times are the times you will arrive at the Baptist Center
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
Work Location: In person
