Job Description

Job Title: Subject Matter Expert (SME) – SCM & Logistics

Experience: 5–8 Years

Location: Remote

Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are looking for a Supply Chain & Logistics Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong hands-on experience across end-to-end supply chain processes, fleet management, logistics planning, warehouse operations, and MRP.

The SME will work closely with product, operations, engineering, and business teams to provide domain expertise, optimize workflows, and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Domain Expertise & Process Optimization

- Serve as the primary authority for Supply Chain & Logistics operations, compliance, and best practices.
- Provide insights to design, evaluate, and optimize SCM workflows, MRP planning, routing & fleet operations, warehouse efficiency, and inventory control.
- Conduct process assessments, gap analysis, cost analysis, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Collaboration with Product, Engineering & Business Teams

- Define functional requirements, process flows, and detailed SOPs.
- Validate product features/solutions from a domain standpoint to ensure they meet industry standards.
- Support change management initiatives, solution rollouts, performance benchmarking, and training.

Pre-Sales & Client Engagement Support

- Contribute domain expertise during pre-sales discussions, RFP responses, solution demos, and proposal preparation.
- Interact with clients to understand requirements and translate them into actionable insights.

Continuous Improvement & Industry Awareness

- Stay updated with evolving industry standards, logistics technologies, and fleet optimization tools.
- Monitor regulatory changes and incorporate compliance requirements into process frameworks.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5–8 years of hands-on experience in SCM/Logistics operations with exposure to:
- Fleet & route optimization
- Inventory control and planning
- Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
- Demand forecasting and procurement coordination
- Warehouse operations, WMS, and distribution
- Strong analytical skills with experience in defining SOPs, KPIs, operational dashboards, cost analysis, and process audits.
- Familiarity with SCM/ERP tools such as SAP, Oracle SCM, TMS, WMS, and MRP systems.
- Proven experience working with cross-functional teams including product, tech, and business.
- Excellent documentation, presentation, communication, and training abilities.

Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have)

- Experience with warehouse automation, Order Management Systems (OMS), or IoT-driven fleet/asset solutions.
- Qualified certifications such as CSCP, CPIM, CSCM, LSS, APICS, etc.
- Background in SaaS platforms, tech-enabled logistics, e-commerce, manufacturing supply chain, or 3PL/4PL environments.
