Job Description
This rewarding and hands-on role offers the chance to play a pivotal role in the success of our Prepared Produce Operations in Upper Hutt. You'll lead a dedicated team, ensuring smooth operation and exceptional customer experiences. You will possess a strong understanding of fresh produce handling and quality control.
The Job:
Full-time permanent
$26 - $28 per hour
Location: William Durant Drive, Upper Hutt
Roster: Monday to Friday, every second Saturday
Hours: 6.30 pm to 3.30 am (approx.)
The role:
You will play a key part in ensuring our department runs while smoothly fostering a positive and productive work environment. Some of the key responsibilities are:
Oversee daily preparation activities, with a primary focus on potato and pumpkin production.
Conduct daily SafetyCulture checks to ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards.
Maintain machinery by performing routine greasing and promptly reporting any faults to the manager and external contractors.
Ensure that all pre-shift and post-shift cleaning checks are completed to the required standards.
Review daily preparation production reports and ensure the morning team meets targeted output levels.
Perform weekly stock takes for preparation produce, PPE, and other required materials.
Strictly adhere to food safety standards and observe H&S protocols.
The person:
You will possess a deep understanding of produce handling, quality control, and dispatch processes. You will ideally have relevant experience leading a team either in the Fresh Produce or Warehousing industry.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who:
Has NZQCF Level 4 qualification with a year of experience in Fresh Produce or Warehouse, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience in Produce production.
Current valid forklift license or willing to have one.
Thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.
Enjoy working hands-on with fresh, high-quality produce.
Possess strong communication, leadership and team-building skills.
Have a proven track record of achieving operational efficiency.
Is able to work in a cold environment.
Is physically fit and strong as some heavy lifting is involved.
Possess some good knife-handling skills
