Job Description

Assist with the scheduling for the Mine Rescue Program.
Schedule and facilitate emergency response drills as needed. Schedule and facilitate debrief and provide report on findings and recommendations to the site management team.
Assist updating of Emergency Preparedness Plan
Responsible for ensuring monthly inspections of emergency response equipment are carried out and documented and any deficiencies corrected. Equipment must be always emergency ready.
Responsible for maintaining Rave notification system for Mine Rescue and other personnel.
Conduct periodic tests of the Rave notification system (minimum twice per calendar year)
Ensure there are an appropriate number of employees trained for the SERT and UG Mine Rescue
Maintain positive and informative relationships with outside emergency preparedness groups, such as Ontario Mine Rescue (WSN), local fire department and emergency equipment suppliers.
Supervisor course in Ontario Mine Rescue
Perform workplace visits and inspections to audit safety performance and systems and monitor compliance with safety policies and procedures. Inform key stakeholders of any hazardous infractions.
Periodically attend crew safety meetings as an observer or as a presenter. To provide updates on any changes related to site emergency response.
Maintain awareness of safety regulations, industry trends and new practices
