Produce Assistant

At New World Howick we are proud of our reputation for delivering excellent customer service. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and customer focused individual to join our team in Produce on a part time basis. Preference will be given to applicants with high presentation standards, who are highly self-motivated and have excellent communication skills to complement an already efficient and successful team.

The Role:

You will assist in the packing of all fresh fruit and vegetables, ensuring displays and shelves are appropriately stocked and merchandised. You will proactively engage and assist customers in a friendly manner. You will also assist in keeping the department clean, tidy and attractively presented.

Experience & Attributes Required:


Food retail, supermarket, fresh food or produce experience is beneficial.
Customer and results focused.
Strong relationship builder, team player and problem solver.
Strong communication skills both spoken and written.
Able to maintain standards and have an eye for detail.
Takes pride in work.
Physically fit and comfortable lifting vegetable/fruit crates

Hours of Work:

Monday: 5:00am to 1:30pm

Friday: 9:00am to 6:00pm

Saturday: 5:00am to 2:30pm

Sunday: 10:00am to 7:00pm
