Senior Technical Advisor Water Loss

This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week

The remuneration range for this role is $80,369 to $113,462 (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience


The opportunity

This role leads the delivery of high-quality leak detection services that reduce water loss and improve network reliability. You’ll combine advanced field investigations with technical leadership, coaching, and analytical insight. You will guide consistent methodologies, champion continuous improvement, and support proactive asset management. Working across internal teams, contractors, and customers, you’ll help ensure safe, reliable drinking water across the region.

Key responsibilities include the following:

Develop and deliver leak detection plans and advanced investigations across the network
Conduct leak surveys, analyse water loss data, and provide accurate reporting
Lead, coach and mentor Technical Advisors to uplift capability and consistency
Liaise with customers, resolve private property leaks, and support water efficiency
Support incident response, allocate repair work, and ensure strong stakeholder engagement
