Electrical Project Engineer (Entry Level)

Location: Elk Grove, IL or Chicago, IL (with travel to local job sites as needed)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Super Electric is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Electrical Project Engineer to support the successful execution of commercial and industrial electrical construction projects. This role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with early career field experience who are eager to learn, grow, and build a long-term career in electrical construction project design/management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project & Construction Support

Assist with the overall execution of electrical construction projects from start to finish
Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
Support preconstruction, prefabrication, and on-site construction teams
Work with project foremen to develop goals, schedules, and execution plans
Provide ongoing support to customers and internal teams

Planning, Scheduling & Estimating

Assist in building project schedules and timelines
Perform electrical take-offs
Estimate labor, materials, and time requirements
Produce material schedules for procurement

Documentation & Technical Review

Review and track submittals, shop drawings, and project documentation
Study blueprints, schematics, and specifications
Ensure work complies with electrical codes and company standards
Complete reports and project paperwork

BIM & Design Coordination

Assist with modeling requirements during project kick-off
Support Director of Design and project team
Coordinate with MEP trade partners
Contribute to BIM standards and initiatives

Technology & Tools

Microsoft Project, Excel, Outlook
Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks
File organization using Windows Explorer

Field & Jobsite Involvement

Visit active jobsites as required (PPE required)
Review field work for accuracy and quality
Communicate with field crews

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Ability to read blueprints and technical documents
Basic understanding of electrical systems
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and in a team

QUALIFICATIONS

Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Electrical construction experience preferred
Large commercial or data center experience a plus

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management preferred
Field experience in construction trades preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
