Vintage Park Salon is an upscale, award-winning salon located in the popular Vintage Park area of northwest Houston. The salon has been in the same location for over 14 years and serves a growing clientele that look for an outstanding hair styling experience. We are seeking a receptionist to join our exceptional team.

Essential Duties

Manage front reception desk including answering phone calls, scheduling appointments in salon software, collecting payment for hair services & retail product sales, calling clients as needed, checking email / postal mail.
Assist the stylists as needed with shampooing, retail product & backbar allocation, and related tasks. Opportunity for tips.
Recommend various hair products while educating the client on these products to promote product sales. Opportunity for product commission.
Maintain a positive, professional attitude to help provide an incredible client experience and generate repeat business.
Stay up to date on current industry trends and the various retail products offered by the salon.
Maintain a clean workstation and assist with support duties in the salon as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

Experience with basic office tasks – phone, computer, email, filing.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients and fellow team members.
Suitable computer skills and familiarity with social media platforms.
Preference given to candidates enrolled in cosmetology school and seeking to work part time in a salon environment to further their goal of obtaining a State of Texas Cosmetology License.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
