Experienced Dental Assistant

We are looking for an experienced dental assistant to join our practice in Redfern for anywhere between 2 and 5 days a week. We are about to lose a DA due to a move to the country. Candidates must be available on Mondays and Fridays, with additional days potentially available.

It is our priority to hire someone with relevant DA experience.

The role will mostly involve a mix of chair side assisting, lab work and steri. However, as a small practice the role will require someone who is flexible and willing/able to occasionally sub in at reception, and with other tasks around the practice.

Our ideal candidate is a person who:

Has at least 1 year experience in:

Customer/Patient facing roles
Chairside assistance during clinical procedures
Sterilisation of clinical instruments and infection control
Cleaning and preparing the surgery for dental treatments
Bonus for those who have experience in intra oral scanning and CEREC

Have the following attributes:

A patient-oriented attitude, and willingness to help
Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
An eye for detail and a commitment to providing the best possible service
The ability to work as part of a team
A desire to learn and develop
Fluent in English
On the job training will be provided for our practice management system (Praktika)

About Redfern Street Dental:

The practice is situated in a very central and convenient location, close to public transport, with plenty of on street parking close by, and great cafes and restaurants to visit during your breaks. The team is young, vibrant and very friendly.

We are a relatively new 2 chair practice in Redfern (since March 2026). A fully digital practice, with brand new equipment, including CEREC, iTero scanner, Aquacare Twin, composite warmers, Sprintray 3D Printer, rotary endo, Gemini laser, and OPG.
