Job Description:

DEFSEC is seeking a Finance student to join our team.

This is an on-site position.

Job Responsibilities:

Working closely with our Finance team, the student will:

Assist with data entry.
Process expense reports.
Process credit card transactions.
Develop worksheet templates for analysis.
Update process documentation and manuals.
Assist with account reconciliations.
Assist with inventory reconciliation.
Assist with the maintenance of the chart of accounts.
Support financial operations and processes.
Participate in special projects, including financial analysis and quality checks.
Support budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning.
Assist with gathering documentation for internal audits and ensure compliance with financial policies.
Undertake other duties as required.
Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program with a specialization in Accounting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial software/tools (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, etc.).
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
A strong desire to learn and develop professional skills in the finance industry.
Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
Experience with bookkeeping.
Rate:

$25 per hour plus vacation pay.
