We’re currently seeking a dedicated Butchery Assistant to join our Meat Processing Team in Waikato.

Position Snapshot

Location: Simsey Place, Te Rapa Park, Waikato
Shift: Monday to Friday, worked between 06:00 AM – 03:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role

As a Butchery Assistant, you’ll play a key role in processing and packing meat products in compliance with food safety and quality standards. You’ll help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment while contributing to a culture of ethics, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Process, Pack and label meat products with precision and care.
Organise and prepare orders for customer delivery.
Coordinate timely delivery of butchery products to specification.
Validate shelf-life, regulatory limits, and labelling requirements.
Operate equipment including vac pack machines for meat wrapping
Monitor workflow and inspect product quality & food safety before packaging.
Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
Engage in food safety programs and uphold hygiene standards.
What We’re Looking For

Experience (2-3 years) in food processing, butchery, or the meat industry.
Familiarity with food service or meat processing environments.
Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure.
Physically fit and capable of repetitive heavy lifting
Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Adherence to health and safety requirements, and food safety & quality standards
Team-oriented with a proactive work ethic.
Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.

To be considered, you must be a NZ citizen, permanent resident, or have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
