SACS Level 5 (PP1–PP4)

Permanent, Part-time (0.4 FTE) (15.2 hours per week).


About the role
The Proactive Overdose Response Initiative (PORI) Coordinator plays a key role in reducing fatal and non-fatal overdose. Working collaboratively with MSIR and AOD teams, you will engage with people at risk of overdose, support access to naloxone, deliver education and training, and strengthen overdose response capability across community and service settings.

This is a permanent replacement role at 0.4 FTE. (15.2 hours per week)

Key responsibilities include:

Engaging with people who have experienced or are at risk of overdose using trauma informed and harm reduction approaches

Delivering overdose prevention, response and naloxone training to clients, staff and community stakeholders

Supporting delivery of Victoria’s Take Home Naloxone Program at NRCH

Strengthening relationships with GPs, pharmacies, emergency services and local organisations

Contributing to data collection, reporting and policy development

Working collaboratively within the MSIR and AOD teams

About you
You are an experienced practitioner who brings confidence, compassion and credibility when working with people who use drugs.

You will bring:

A qualification in Health, AOD, Welfare, Social Sciences, Psychology, Public Health or a related field

Demonstrated experience engaging with people experiencing vulnerability and complex needs

Strong understanding of overdose risk, naloxone and harm reduction principles

Highly developed communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills

A clear commitment to social justice, equity of access and trauma informed practice

Experience working in an MSIR, AOD outreach or overdose response setting will be highly regarded.
