Full job description
Under the umbrella of Harrogate Stays which owns the Fountains Guest House and The Belmont Aparthotel, you will work as part of a small team of housekeepers, waiting staff and cooks to support the daily running of both businesses.

This opportunity will expose the successful candidate to all aspects of a successful hospitality business, through hands on work in the hotel in three different roles.

Housekeeping Service

Cleanliness is one of the most significant elements of the guests first impression and is constantly observed for the duration of their stay. Attention to detail is key and our housekeeping staff know how important it is to the enjoyment of our guests and the performance of the business overall.

Once breakfast service is finished and guests have departed, support is required for the lead housekeeper to clean the rooms ready for incoming guests.

Housekeeping duties include:

- Stripping and making beds

- Taking linen to / from the laundry room

- Cleaning bathrooms and bedrooms

- Vacuum cleaning

- Topping up toiletries

Waiting Service

It is of paramount importance that breakfast is served to our guests quickly, efficiently and with a beaming smile.

Breakfast service duties include:

- preparing the breakfast room for guests; putting out juices and yoghurts, setting up the coffee machine, preparing tables

- Taking customer orders

- Serving teas and coffees

- Serving breakfasts prepared by our cook

- Clearing and resetting tables

- Loading the dishwasher

- Clearing and preparing the breakfast room for the following day

- Sweeping and mopping the breakfast room floor

Breakfast is not served at The Belmont Aparthotel, but it is one of the things that makes a stay at Fountains Guest House special. As breakfast cook you will prepare a simple menu exceptionally well.

Cook / Chef duties include

- Preparing the kitchen for service

- Cooking variations of breakfast offerings that are centred around a ‘full english’

- Cleaning down and washing up kitchen items at the end of service

- Sweeping and mopping floors

This vacancy creates a wonderful opportunity for someone looking to gain experience of all day-to-day aspects of small hotel operations.

Breakfast cook / waiting hours required are 07:15 - 10:15

Housekeeping hours are 10:15 – 13:00
(breakfast service is from 08:00 - 09:30)

Shift patterns can be agreed with your manager and will be initially supporting another member of staff and later working independently.

The current vacancy is for the following shifts:
Tuesday: Breakfast cook and Housekeeping
Saturday: Breakfast cook and Housekeeping
Sunday: Breakfast waiting on and Housekeeping

And additional shifts to cover absence and holidays.
