Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on various types of buildings. The position involves working on-site, often requiring physical labour and specialised technical knowledge to ensure high-quality workmanship and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret roofing schematics, plans, and technical drawings to execute projects accurately.
Install new roofs using appropriate materials and techniques, ensuring durability and weather resistance.
Repair or replace existing roofing structures, identifying issues through visual inspection and technical assessments.
Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery safely and efficiently.
Perform heavy lifting of roofing materials and equipment to facilitate installation or repairs.
Utilise carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and fabrication skills as needed for specialised roofing projects.
Apply knowledge of construction principles to ensure proper alignment, sealing, and waterproofing of roofing systems.
Maintain a clean work environment by organising tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly.
Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations to minimise risks during all phases of work.
Requirements

Proven experience in roofing or related construction fields such as carpentry or masonry is preferred.
Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and blueprint reading.
Competence in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery.
Physical strength to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly throughout the workday.
Knowledge of construction practices including plumbing, masonry, and general building techniques is advantageous.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in executing complex tasks accurately.
Relevant certifications or training in roofing or construction trades are desirable but not essential.
