Application Engineering Leader

Advise and support sales and customers in the selection of the correct equipment for specific applications
Provide technical support and direction for existing product lines
Ability to travel for customer training, presentations, machine/cycle optimization and support field installations
Direct the work of process engineers, Technical Service engineer/manager to collect data for machine sizing
Assist process engineers in their duties of installing customer molds to demonstrate machines for customer acceptance and sales demonstrations
Become a subject matter expert with all Milacron control systems
Design and perform testing as required for future sizing requirements
Design and perform testing as required for future machine design criteria
Complete and document machine/processing testing
Ability to provide technical reports to customers, engineering and suppliers
Communicate with sales force, customers, engineering and organization in a professional manner
Ability to travel for trade shows for setup/teardown and during the show
Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds
Ability to work around moving equipment, fork trucks, cranes, heavy equipment, etc.
Ability to work flexible hours on short notice

Skills

Ability to effectively build and/or manage a applications team
Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency in the use of PC based applications, including Microsoft Office.

Understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and thermodynamic systems
Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of molding/tooling is preferred
Strong Mathematic and analytical aptitude
Ability to read technical drawings and documents
Travel 20%-30%
Education

2 Year Degree in Engineering Technology and 2 years of related experience , Bachelor degree preferred
