Studio Support & Event Assistant (Full-Time)

JoseSanDance is a busy dance studio and event space in Ottawa. We are looking for a dependable Studio Support & Event Assistant to support daily studio operations, cleaning, setup, and event assistance, including bar service during events.

This is a hands-on, in-person role suited for someone reliable, flexible, and comfortable working in an active, people-centered environment.

Schedule: Variable shifts, scheduled in advance

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time role of up to 40 hours per week. Shifts are scheduled in advance based on the studio and event calendar. Work may include daytime, evening, and weekend shifts. Exact shift times vary week to week and are communicated ahead of time.

Primary Responsibilities:
Clean the studio before and after classes and events, including floors, mirrors, bathrooms, and common areas. Empty garbage, restock basic supplies, and reset the studio layout after classes or events. Assist with basic organization of storage areas and supplies using provided instructions. Help with light touch-ups such as changing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, and assembling shelves or furniture when needed.

Event & Bar Support:
Assist with event setup and teardown. Serve alcohol during events when scheduled. Maintain bar cleanliness and assist with basic restocking. Follow all studio procedures and alcohol service regulations. Smart Serve certification is required for bartending duties and must be obtained before performing bar shifts.

Community & Class Support:
Greet students and guests politely. Answer basic questions or direct people to the appropriate person. Help maintain a welcoming, respectful, and safe environment during classes and events.

Content Support (Basic):
Capture short videos or photos during classes or events when requested, using a personal or studio-provided phone. No editing, posting, or content planning responsibilities are required.

Off-Site Tasks:
Occasionally assist with errands or tasks outside the studio during scheduled work hours. Travel time is paid. Mileage or transit costs are reimbursed according to studio policy.

Requirements:
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Smart Serve certification is required for bar shifts. Ability to perform light physical work, including standing, walking, lifting, and cleaning. Reliable, punctual, and willing to follow instructions and checklists. Comfortable working around people in a busy studio environment. Dance experience is not required.
