Job Description
We are seeking a Design Engineer (CATIA V5) with hands-on experience in aircraft structural design to support engineering activities within an MRO environment. The role involves the design and modification of aircraft structural components to support maintenance, repair, and modification programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 3D models and assemblies of aircraft structural components using CATIA V5
- Design and modify fuselage structures, including frames, longerons, brackets, panels, and related components
- Prepare 2D manufacturing drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and associated design documentation
- Provide engineering support for aircraft maintenance, repair, and modification projects
- Collaborate closely with stress analysis, manufacturing, and airworthiness teams
- Implement design updates in accordance with Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) / Engineering Orders
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable DGCA / FAA / EASA airworthiness requirements
- Participate in STC, repair, and modification design activities as required
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
- Solid hands-on expertise in CATIA V5 (Part Design, Assembly Design, and Drafting)
- Proven experience in aircraft structural design
- Sound knowledge of GD&T;, aircraft materials, and manufacturing processes
- Experience in developing production-ready manufacturing drawings
- Understanding of MRO processes, documentation, and compliance requirements
- Willingness and ability to work onsite in Mumbai
- Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering (regular mode)
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience with an OEM or DGCA/EASA-certified MRO
- Basic understanding of structural load paths and stress concepts
- Familiarity with aircraft interiors, structural modifications, or retrofit projects
