Principal Industrial Engineer

Job description
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Principal Industrial Engineer to lead complex projects focused on optimizing operational efficiency and productivity. This role involves analyzing existing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and designing and implementing innovative solutions across manufacturing and operational environments. You will be responsible for applying advanced engineering principles, statistical methods, and lean manufacturing techniques to enhance workflow, reduce costs, and improve product quality. Key duties include developing detailed process flow diagrams, conducting time and motion studies, and implementing ergonomic improvements. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's or Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or a related field, coupled with a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, including significant experience in process optimization, simulation, and data analysis. Expertise in areas such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Operations Research is essential. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills are required to lead cross-functional teams and manage large-scale improvement initiatives. Excellent communication and presentation skills are necessary to effectively convey complex technical information to diverse audiences, including senior management. This hybrid role requires a balance of on-site engagement for direct observation and data collection, alongside remote work for analysis, modeling, and report generation. You will mentor junior engineers and contribute to the company's strategic planning for operational excellence. The ability to influence change and drive adoption of new processes is critical.
