Priority Logistics is a fully integrated logistics service provider with terminals in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec, serving customers across Canada. We specialize in asset-based LTL and full load intermodal services.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join our head office accounting team located in South Surrey, BC. If you are positive, energetic team player with an eagerness to learn, this role offers the opportunity to grow your skills and be part of a continually growing organization.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
Diploma in accounting; Bachelor’s degree in accounting is considered an asset.
1-2 years of accounting experience such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and clerical accounting work.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
Extensive knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Working knowledge in the transportation and logistics industry is considered an asset, but not required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Prepare and issue customer invoices.
Record and process customer payments and deposits.
Monitor accounts receivable balances and follow up on overdue accounts.
Prepare and maintain AR aging reports and provide timely updates to management.
Process payroll accurately and on schedule.
Assist in the accounting team’s day-to-day work.
Other duties as assigned by management, including sales and accounts receivable reporting.
