About The Role
We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team in a busy Central Microbiology Laboratory.
Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Routine receipting and processing of specimens
Operation and maintenance of analysers
Identification and prioritisation of urgent specimens
Filing and storage of specimens and data entry
Receipting and restocking of media
Preparing slides and use and maintenance of automated staining machine
Assisting Scientists in the Lab as required
Continuous learning of processing requirements of different types of samples for different tests
Respond to result, sample requirements and general queries
Identifying and resolving problems on at the pre-analytic stage
About You
To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:
Previous laboratory experience and exposure to medical terminology is desirable, but not essential
Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques or Pathology Collection is desirable
The ability to manage and thrive in a busy environment
Ability to work with minimal supervision and work as a team
A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures
