About STC

Sydney Theatre Company is Australia's largest theatre company and the state theatre company of NSW. STC is a place where artists, staff and audiences come together to explore and share ideas through the power of live storytelling.

We are looking for a Venue and Events Coordinator who is a proactive team player with a can-do attitude to support the Venue Manager across Sydney Theatre Company venues. This is a permanent full time contract.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of venue operations for external and internal events at The Wharf and Roslyn Packer Theatre. This is a great opportunity to work with high profile clients and artists and develop high level venue and event management skills in a leading theatre company.

Essential Criteria

What We're Looking For:

Experience organising and coordinating successful events.
Strong understanding of venue management and project management.
Highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Exceptional administration skills including written skills, attention to detail and organisation.
Competent in using computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, computer systems event management software (such as Artifax).
Positive interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully interact equally well with professional associates, staff, artists, hirers and sponsors.
A willingness to self-direct and prioritise workload in accordance with business needs.
A willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends in accordance with business needs.
A dynamic approach to improving processes and systems.

Desirable

Interest in performing arts, especially theatre.
