• *General Description of the Role**

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for conducting production line checks and audits, and performing incoming inspection in raw/packaging materials, ensuring that all activities are conducted safely and accurately.
• *Key Responsibilities and Activities**

Given the nature of the Company’s business and the marketplace, the business and/or jobs will evolve and change over time. Accordingly, the Company may add to or remove from the duties and responsibilities set out below as circumstances change. Current duties and responsibilities of the Quality Control Technician include:
• *Quality Control & Assurance**
- Performs routine Bottling Line Checks (pre-operational checks, finished good inspections, packaging material verifications, equipment validations).
- Addresses non-conformities in real time (quality hold, product disposition, escalation).
- Performs and records incoming inspections of raw product and packaging material.
- Assists in investigating internal non-conformities and customer complaints.
- Performs allergen and ATP swabbing on product tanks and production equipment.
• *Food Safety & Compliance**
- Assists with internal food safety audits and validations.
- Adheres to good housekeeping, safety, environmental, food safety, and GMP guidelines.
- Complies with all aspects of OH&S Act and Forty Creek Distillery policies and procedures.
• *Laboratory & Support Functions**
- Provides support and coverage for the Laboratory Technician (lab tests, sensory analysis).
- Other duties as assigned by the Quality Supervisor or Quality Manager.

- Canadian Supply Chain employees
• *Experience Required**
- 1+ years of experience working in quality control
- Previous experience working with Consumer-Packaged Goods/Alcoholic Beverage industry would be an asset
• *Education / Professional Qualifications**
- Degree or Diploma in Science, preferably Food Science, Biotechnology, or Chemistry.
• *Skills**
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Procedures
- Team oriented
- Proactive, well organized and able to demonstrate attention to detail
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills and analytical skills, including quantitative analysis and diagnostic skills
- Ability to prioritize and balance required tasks with sensitivity to time, resources and budget
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak and present to key decisions makers, both internally and externally as required
- Strong decision-making skills and sound judgement
- Knowledge of both laboratory and quality inspection sampling techniques
- Familiar with equipment used for laboratory analyses (alcohol, pH, turbidity, colour)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Must be a person of high integrity and commitment, with a strong work ethic
- Motivated to complete tasks independently and ability to work with mínimal supervision

- Strong achievement orientation with a commitment to delivering business results
• *Other Requirements**
- General work hours will be 7:30 am - 4:30 pm. Work outside these hours will be required on occasion, including some early starts, later finishes and some Saturdays, as assigned
- Must be able to lift up to 30 kilograms
- Frequent sitting, standing, climbing, and bending may be required
- Exposure to heat, dust, irritable odours, and strong chemicals may occur
