Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly organized and results-oriented Operations Manager to oversee their facilities and operational activities. This position is based at our **Laval, Quebec** site and requires full-time on-site commitment. The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the business unit, optimizing operational processes, and managing a team of dedicated professionals. You will play a key role in implementing strategic initiatives, driving operational excellence, and achieving key performance indicators. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, a proven ability to manage budgets, and extensive experience in process improvement, supply chain management, or general business operations. Responsibilities include managing resource allocation, overseeing staff performance, developing and enforcing operational policies, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. You will also be instrumental in identifying areas for efficiency gains, implementing cost-saving measures, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Collaboration with other departments, including sales, finance, and HR, is essential to ensure seamless integration of operations with overall business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage daily operational activities to ensure efficiency and productivity. Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve business goals. Manage and lead a team of operational staff, providing guidance and performance feedback. Optimize operational processes for cost-effectiveness and quality improvement. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Manage budgets and control operational expenditures. Oversee inventory management and supply chain logistics. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. Implement performance metrics and track key operational indicators (KPIs). Drive initiatives for continuous improvement and operational excellence. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in operations management or a similar leadership role. Proven experience in process improvement, lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies. Strong understanding of supply chain management and logistics. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively. Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in relevant operational software and systems. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Knowledge of Quebec labour laws is an asset.
