Optical Assistant – Independent Opticians (Full Time)
Location: Scotstoun
Hours: Full-time, 5 days per week (including 2 days supporting eye examinations)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience, bonus available
About the Role
We are a well-established independent opticians looking for a reliable and patient-focused Optical Assistant to join our team. This role replaces a long-standing team member and is central to the day-to-day running of the practice.
You will work across all areas of the practice, with two days per week supporting eye examinations and the remainder focused on dispensing, reception, and patient care.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, and working closely with both patients and clinicians.
Key Responsibilities
Dispensing & Patient Care
Assisting patients in choosing frames and lenses appropriate to their prescription, lifestyle, and budget
Providing clear, confident advice on lens options and coatings
Taking accurate measurements (PDs, heights, etc.)
Ensuring a high standard of customer service at all times
