Job Description
WAAPA is seeking casual staff to work Front of House and/or bar during pre-production & production periods. WAAPA performances take place at one of our theatre spaces at the City Campus. This staffing pool may be assigned work at any of WAAPA’s theatres or bars as required.
The Role
The primary purpose of the bar role is to serve customers at any one of the WAAPA bars which sells premixed drinks, snacks, and soft drinks (no cocktail-making skills required). Other responsibilities include managing stock and processing EFTPOS transactions and reconciliations.
Front of House staff are also required to greet patrons, check tickets and usher attendees. This includes training in venue evacuation and safety protocols. Casual event staff may be required to assist with private functions and some venue management responsibilities.
Key Criteria
Must have a current RSA.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work well in a team.
Previous events and hospitality work experience is preferable but not required.
Approved Managers Licence is desirable.
You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry Personal Excellence and Courage.
Remuneration: These casual positions attract a remuneration of $40.09 per hour plus superannuation (HEW 2).
