Assistant Director of Maintenance

First Baptist Dothan

Primary Function:

This position administers the maintenance services of the facilities operations at First Baptist Dothan.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Will assist to oversee and maintain the First Baptist Dothan Maintenance staff and coordinate with other departments for facility operations to develop plans and various elements for events and general maintenance needs of the church.

Supervisor:

The Assistant Director of Maintenance will report to the Maintenance Director.

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Assists with developing and administering polices regarding preventive maintenance and general maintenance operations.

2. Evaluate program effectiveness to assist with developing modifications or adjustments to maintenance routines to provide ongoing improvements in preventive maintenance and response procedures.

3. Assist with developing specifications, ordering materials, filling out forms, developing reports and documentation and writing estimates for ongoing maintenance and maintenance renovation type work.

4. Inspects on-going work to assure quality and communicates with church staff and congregates as needed for satisfactory results.

5. Maintains knowledge of current practices, codes and laws.

6. Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned.

3. Must help supervise and encourage a healthy staff culture.

4. Provide direction and evaluation when needed to the maintenance staff.

6. Must be flexible and adaptable in various situations and when interacting with many different personalities.

7. Must have the ability to work with distractions, to organize, and to prioritize tasks.

8. Must be able to perform general custodial duties.

9. Must be able to utilize and implement computer programs and software to maintain First Baptist Dothan maintenance operations.

Education and Experience:

1. Bachelors Degree preferred.

2. Prior managerial experience preferred

3. 3 years or more trade experience in electrical, plumbing and/or HVAC.

4. Must possess a valid driver’s license. CDL preferred or obtainable.

Physical Requirements: These physical requirements are not exhaustive, and additional job-related physical requirements may be added on an as needed basis. Corrective devices may be used to meet physical requirements.

1. Physical Exertion: The incumbent may be required to lift approximately 50 pounds or more.

2. Vision: Requirements of this job include close vision and color vision.

3. Speaking/Hearing: Ability to give and receive information through speaking and listening.

4. Motor Coordination: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is regularly required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend; and reach with hands and arms.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
