Job Description

About the role
As the Enua Ola Coordinator, you will support around 35 Pasifika churches and community groups each year to:

Identify their key health priorities
Develop and implement annual health plans
Strengthen health and wellbeing activities for their members
You will work closely with group leaders and health committees, providing ongoing encouragement, resources, connections, and practical support. You will also be responsible for planning and delivering the annual 8-week Pasifika Outrigger Challenge, including programme coordination, data collection, and celebration events. This role sits within The Fono’s Public Health team and works closely with Parish Community Nurses and another Enua Ola Coordinator as part of a high-performing, collaborative team.

Key responsibilities
Deliver the Enua Ola programme across West Auckland and the North Shore
Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with Pasifika churches and community groups
Support groups to develop, implement, and review annual health plans
Connect families and individuals to The Fono’s integrated health and social services when needed
Plan, coordinate, and evaluate the Pasifika Outrigger Challenge
Maintain accurate records, reporting, and programme data
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners
Contribute to the continuous improvement of programme tools and delivery
About you
A strong understanding of Pasifika communities in Aotearoa New Zealand, including cultural values and protocols
Proven experience engaging with and supporting community groups
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team
Strong organisation skills and comfort managing multiple priorities
A values-driven approach that aligns with The Fono’s community-led model of care
