Specialty Clinical Nurse (Research)

Help make cutting edge treatment options available to Te Whatu Ora Health NZ patients facing serious health challenges.
Get to know your patients through regular visits and follow-up, often across years.
Ensure high quality research conduct supporting participants and new treatment development.
Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The Specialty Clinical Nurse has a key role in delivering clinical trials, working alongside participants and their whānau, together with the study investigators and clinical trial coordinator(s). The expectation is that the Specialty Clinical Nurse will be managing and taking a lead in the research project, involving creative and strategic thinking and utilising advanced nursing knowledge in clinical practice.

Current or recent experience working in a similar role would be highly regarded. Experience as an experienced clinical nurse is essential as well as the ability to give advice on the organisation and management of the research in progress.

As the ideal candidate for this role you will:

commitment to biculturalism
be a registered nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
have 3+ years of nursing experience in acute care
minimum Level 3 practice (PDRP proficient/expert with supported pathway)
have a personal commitment to on-going learning and development
be capable of working within a multidisciplinary team
previous experience with PowerPoint, Access, Word, Excel and database entry
able to work autonomously
flexible hours
Desired skills:

expertise in IV-line placement and cannulation
familiarity with research methodology
have a post graduate qualification
