Job Title: Junior / Senior Fashion Designer
Employment Type: Full-Time

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES :
1. Collection Design & Concept Development
• Conceptualize and develop menswear collections from initial sketches to final production.
• Create mood boards, color stories, and thematic narratives aligned with brand aesthetics.
• Research global and Indian menswear trends, silhouettes, embroidery styles, and fabric innovations.
• Translate creative concepts into commercially viable designs.
2. Technical Design & Garment Development
• Create detailed technical drawings, design sheets, and specifications for production.
• Work closely with pattern makers to ensure accurate execution of silhouettes and fits.
• Review samples and prototypes, ensuring quality, proportions, and finishing meet brand standards.
• Incorporate bespoke tailoring principles and couture-level detailing into designs.
3. Fabric, Embroidery & Material Sourcing
• Assist in sourcing fabrics, trims, and embellishments for collections and bespoke orders.
• Develop embroidery concepts and coordinate with khaka artists and craftsmen.
• Maintain updated fabric libraries and material references.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Coordinate with merchandising, production, marketing, and PR teams to ensure cohesive collection storytelling.
• Support shoot styling, campaign visuals, and collection presentations when required.
• Align design timelines with production schedules and brand launches.
5. Client Consultations & Bespoke Support
• Participate in client consultations and fittings at the Kala Ghoda flagship store.
• Assist in understanding bespoke requirements and translating them into design solutions.
• Coordinate with tailoring teams to ensure client specifications are met accurately.
6. Quality Control & Design Excellence
• Ensure consistency in design execution, craftsmanship, and detailing across collections.
• Review final garments for quality, embroidery finish, fabric usage, and overall presentation.
• Maintain high couture and luxury standards throughout development.
7. Team Support & Mentorship (Senior Level)
• Guide and mentor junior designers in design development and execution.
• Review junior designers’ work and provide constructive feedback.
• Support building structured design workflows and creative processes.
QUALFICATIONS & PREREQUISITIES:
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field (advanced degree preferred).
• Junior Designer: 1–3 years of experience in menswear design.
• Senior Designer: 3+ years of experience in luxury menswear, couture, or bespoke.
• Strong understanding of menswear silhouettes, tailoring, and garment construction.
• In-depth knowledge of fabrics, couture embroideries, and finishing techniques.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.).
• Familiarity with bespoke tailoring and made-to-measure processes.
• Awareness of sustainability practices in fashion is a plus.
• Strong teamwork, time management, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel for sourcing, shows, and industry events if required.
