About the role:

Reporting to the Nurse Manager Sterilisation Services, some of your duties for the role will include:

Ensuring reusable medical devices are reprocessed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions for use and in accordance with AS/NZS5369:2023
Reusable medical devices are decontaminated using manual/mechanical methods and inspected including undertaking functionality testing prior to assembling devices
Ensure that packaging utilised for devices is compatible with method of sterilisation
Utilise disinfection system or equipment used for low temperature or steam sterilisation
Undertake testing of equipment and monitoring activities including completion of required documentation
Reporting and recording any issues/ incorrect functioning of equipment
Ensure release criteria is met for each stage of reprocessing
About you:

Completion of AQF Certificate lll in Sterilisation Services or equivalent and at least 560 hours of satisfactory in service experience within a sterile supply department
Experience working well as an individual or a team member in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Maintain patient confidentiality and work with a wide range of people from different cultures, backgrounds and circumstances
Experience in the setup, program and operation of complex machinery, equipment and/or facilities and recording systems including computerised systems
This is a single vacancy, with three possible appointment classifications. The successful applicants will be appointed in the position appropriate to their skills, qualifications, and experience.

Please note that this position is multi-classed as either a WHA3, WHA4, or WHA5 and classification will be determined by qualifications and experience.
