Plustel is a telecommunications company based in Sydney offering Data, Security, Electrical, Communications, Video Conferencing & Audio Visual services. Our customers are Australia wide but we are currently looking for a new technician to service the greater Sydney area and beyond. For the past 20 years, Plustel has devoted its efforts to safeguarding businesses, residential and public sector organisations, ensuring the protection of their people and property. Due to growth and expansion, we are seeking an experienced Telecommunications / Data Technician to join our team
Tasks & Responsibilities
Installation, termination and testing of structured data cabling (CAT6/CAT6A & Fibre)
Communications rack build, fit-out, and cable management
Installation of wireless access points and network hardware
Pathway installation including tray, conduit, basket, and penetrations
Testing & certification of cabling infrastructure
Fault finding and remediation works
NBN jumpering and carrier service patching
Business phone system installation and handset deployment
Basic networking works including switch installation, patching, and configuration support
Onsite technology deployments and infrastructure upgrades
Assisting with Video Conferencing & Audio Visual installations
Assisting with Electronic Security works including CCTV, Access Control & Intercom systems
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate must be an Australian resident, with a valid NSW Driving licence, Cable licence, and General Construction Induction Card.
Proven experience as a Telecommunications or Data Technician
Experience in structured cabling installations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and customer relation skills
Opportunities for interstate travel
Ideal but not essential:
Exposure to Electronic Security systems (CCTV, Access Control, Intercoms)
Experience with AV or Video Conferencing installations
Basic networking knowledge (switching, patching, device installation)
