Job Description
Turn complex operational data into insights that drive smarter decisions
Influence performance improvements across Wellington’s three waters network
Petone office based
This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week.
The remuneration range for this role is $86,230 to $121,736 p.a. (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience.
The opportunity
You will analyse and translate operational performance data into clear, evidence-based insights that inform decision making and service improvement across the three waters network. Working closely with Network Operations teams, you will improve reporting quality, identify performance trends, support investigations, and help drive continuous operational improvement.
Key responsibilities
Produce high-quality operational performance reports and dashboards
Analyse performance trends and apply appropriate analytical techniques to explain performance outcomes
Translate analysis into clear, actionable insights that inform operational decision making and improvement priorities
Track KPIs, identify emerging performance risks, and provide performance insights against agreed standards
Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of performance reporting frameworks and processes
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring:
A relevant tertiary qualification in data science, statistics, engineering or a related analytical field
Strong experience translating complex operational or performance data into actionable insights
Proven analytical and statistical capability, including selecting and applying appropriate methods to understand performance drivers
Ability to communicate insights clearly to diverse stakeholders
Strong planning, organisation, problem-solving and collaboration skills
Experience with complex reporting and analysis using tools such as Tableau, Power BI or similar
