Job Description
Join a high-impact scale-up at a pivotal growth stage
Engender Technologies is at the forefront of innovation, transforming the dairy industry through its groundbreaking gender selection technology. Following a successful and intensive R&D phase, the company is now entering a period of commercialisation, manufacturing, and global deployment. To support this next chapter, we are seeking an experienced Cost & Management Accountant to build and lead our cost accounting and management reporting capability from the ground up.
This is a hands-on, influential role where you’ll work closely with operations, engineering, and Corporate Services to deliver robust costing frameworks, insightful reporting, and commercial decision support as the business scales into production and offshore delivery.
The Role
Reporting into the COO and working closely with Corporate Services, you’ll be responsible for establishing cost models, management reporting, and financial insights that directly support manufacturing, installation, and global service delivery.
You’ll play a key role in shaping how costs are understood, controlled, and optimised across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Accounting & Financial Modelling
Build and implement cost accounting frameworks for manufacturing and assembly
Develop detailed product costing models (BOMs, labour, overheads, operational drivers)
Establish standard costing, variance analysis, and margin reporting
Support pricing decisions and commercial deal evaluation
Management Accounting & Reporting
Design and deliver monthly management reporting for the COO and executive team
Provide forecasts, scenario modelling, and forward-looking commercial insights
Track operational KPIs across production, installation, and offshore support
Develop dashboards covering cost performance, utilisation, and productivity
Commercialisation & Manufacturing Support
Support the transition from R&D to structured manufacturing
Analyse cost impacts of design changes, supply chain decisions, and production methods
Contribute to planning for installation, commissioning, and ongoing support services
Financial Operations & Collaboration
Work closely with Corporate Services across P&L, balance sheet, payroll, procurement, and audit
Integrate cost accounting outputs into wider corporate reporting
Systems & Continuous Improvement
Implement or enhance ERP/MRP costing modules
Improve cost-tracking processes and financial controls
Drive continuous improvement across the end-to-end value chain
About You
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or similar
CPA / CA qualified (or working towards)
5+ years’ experience in cost or management accounting, ideally in manufacturing, engineering, biotech, or similar environments
Strong experience with ERP/MRP costing systems
Proven ability to build frameworks, models, and reporting processes from scratch
Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and finance teams
What Will Set You Apart
Strong analytical and financial modelling capability
Ability to translate technical and operational detail into clear commercial insights
Hands-on, pragmatic approach ideally from a start-up/scale-up environment
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Detail-oriented, process-driven, and proactive
Why Join EngenderTechnologies?
Be part of a purpose-driven organisation commercialising innovative technology
Work at a critical inflection point as the business scales into manufacturing and global delivery
High visibility role with real influence on commercial and operational decisions
Opportunity to build systems and frameworks that will shape the business long term
