Dispatcher

The primary role of truck dispatchers is to schedule drivers to make deliveries and pick up packages or shipments from customers. Truck dispatchers communicate with customer’s to record details about shipments, arrange pick up times and discuss any special handling issues. They also set up driver routes. In addition, truck dispatchers review drivers’ logs and maintain various records, such as those pertaining to dispatched calls, vehicle repair, freight bills, and arrival times.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Use Dispatching Software
Successfully plan and schedule drivers, truck loads and routes.
Book pickup/ delivery appointments and schedule pick up date and time.
Negotiate rates with customers to achieve a monthly Targets
Communicate with drivers to keep everything on track
Be detailed oriented, team player and multitask oriented
Must have excellent oral and written communication
Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years’ experience working in as a dispatch and/or logistics related role
