Position Overview
The Manitoba Association for Safety in Healthcare Inc. (MASH) is seeking a Safety Advisor - Data & Analytics to join our growing team. This full-time role combines occupational health and safety expertise with strong data and analytics capabilities to support Manitoba’s healthcare organizations. The position focuses on improving workplace safety outcomes by translating safety data into meaningful insights, supporting certification, and strengthening safety management systems across the public healthcare system. This position reports to the Director of Safety Programs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert safety and health advice, training, and support to Manitoba healthcare organizations.
Support implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the Manitoba Healthcare Safety Management System.
Work with safety data, dashboards, and structured reports to validate data, identify trends, and assess risk indicators.
Translate safety and performance data into clear, practical insights for non-technical audiences.
Support organizations pursuing or maintaining MASH certification, including readiness assessments and continuous improvement.
Conduct audits, assessments, and quality assurance reviews related to SAFE Work Certification standards.
Maintain and manage safety, training, and certification records within established systems.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including EHS Analytics, to support dashboards and reporting initiatives.
Deliver safety and health training (virtual and in-person) and contribute to the development and revision of training materials.
Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare stakeholders across Manitoba.
Education, Experience & Skills
Occupational Health & Safety education with 3–5 years of related experience (healthcare experience an asset).
Professional safety designation (CRSP, CRST, CHSC or similar), achieved or in progress.
Demonstrated experience working with safety or operational data, dashboards, and reports.
Strong understanding of Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health legislation and safety management systems.
Ability to conduct audits and assessments aligned with SAFE Work Certification standards.
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with Dynamics 365 or SkillsPass is an asset.
Strong analytical skills, attention to data quality, and ability to perform gap analyses.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a practical, member-focused approach.
Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and adapt in a changing environment.
Requirements of Employment
This position requires travel within the province with the possibility of overnight stays.
Valid Class 5 vehicle driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to perform gap analyses using analytical skills.
Applicants must be able to and comfortable facilitating in-person and virtual training sessions with groups of people.
Applicants must have Microsoft TEAMs experience and be able to fully facilitate a virtual training session from beginning to end.
Healthcare experience will be considered an asset.

The Manitoba Association for Safety in Healthcare Inc. (MASH) is Manitoba’s healthcare specific industry-based safety program (IBSP) and certifying partner for healthcare organizations. Its main purpose is to educate employers and improve the safety and health of workers in Manitoba workplaces that are part of the healthcare industry. MASH will provide relevant, customized services that respond to the diverse needs, hazards and risks specific to healthcare with an in-depth understanding and targeted strategies to support safe, productive workplaces.

*Salary is negotiable based on skills and experience.
