Doggy Daycare Supervisor

Comb & Collar, a successful grooming salon, is expanding!

We are opening a brand-new grooming center and doggy daycare, and we’re looking for an experienced Doggy Daycare Supervisor to help lead our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, hands-on environment where you can be creative, take ownership, and be part of building something special from the ground up.

Position Overview

The Doggy Daycare Supervisor plays a key leadership role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and happiness of all dogs in our care, while supporting team members and maintaining a clean, organized facility.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure a safe, positive environment for dogs, team members, and pet parents
Supervise daily daycare operations and support staff as needed
Monitor dog behavior, recognize early signs of stress or aggression, and intervene appropriately
Make real-time decisions to ensure dog and staff safety, including removing dogs from group play when necessary
Maintain cleanliness of the facility, including feeding, watering, administering medication, and sanitizing play areas
Open and/or close the facility following established procedures
Identify and report sick or injured pets promptly
Respond calmly to emergencies and follow daycare safety protocols
Address, document, and follow up on any safety incidents
Complete incident reports and daily logs accurately
Ensure all daycare policies, procedures, and vaccination requirements are consistently followed
Assist with onboarding and training new daycare staff
Provide guidance, feedback, and support to team members during shifts
Communicate professionally and kindly with pet parents and management when required
What You Need to Be Successful

2+ years of experience working with or managing dogs in a daycare, kennel, or similar environment
Strong understanding of dog behavior and body language
Previous leadership or supervisory experience is an asset
Comfortable handling dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments
Ability to remain calm, confident, and decisive under pressure
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Reliable, punctual, and able to work opening and/or closing shifts
Essential Physical Demands & Work Environment

Full-time position, including weekdays and weekends
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs independently and occasionally team lift up to 100 lbs
Regular bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, talking, seeing, and hearing
Exposure to a wet environment, pet hair, and moderate to high noise levels at times
