Job Description
About the Role:
At TCX Freight & Distribution Concepts, we do not just move cargo; we engineer efficiency on the road. Located in the fast-growing logistics corridor of the Gold Coast, we are a forward-thinking freight partner delivering tailored distribution solutions. We are seeking a strategic Senior Transport Planner to master the logic behind our logistics.
This is a role for a tactical problem solver. You will move beyond simple dispatching to orchestrate complex supply chain movements across Queensland and interstate. You will oversee the daily puzzle of fleet utilization: balancing driver fatigue, vehicle capacity, and customer deadlines. You will be responsible for turning potential logistical chaos into a streamlined operation, minimizing empty kilometers and maximizing service delivery standards (DIFOT).
Why Work With Us?
Lifestyle & Career: Build a high-level logistics career without the Brisbane commute. Enjoy the Gold Coast work-life balance while managing a serious fleet.
Strategic Voice: As a Senior Planner, your input matters. You will help shape our routing strategies and technology adoption to drive profitability.
Modern Fleet: Work with a company that invests in well-maintained vehicles and modern Transport Management Systems (TMS).
Team Mentorship: You will have the opportunity to guide junior schedulers, sharing your industry knowledge and setting the standard for the operations room.
Key Responsibilities:
Route Optimization: Plan and execute daily run sheets for the fleet, ensuring the most cost-effective and time-efficient routes are selected.
Asset Utilization: Maximize the efficiency of the fleet. Ensure trucks are loaded to capacity and "dead running" (empty return trips) is kept to an absolute minimum.
Compliance Management: Strictly adhere to NHVR (National Heavy Vehicle Regulator) standards, specifically managing driver fatigue, mass limits, and chain of responsibility obligations.
Driver Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for drivers. Resolve on-road issues, breakdowns, or delays with a calm and decisive approach.
Customer Service: Proactively communicate with key clients regarding delivery windows and potential delays, maintaining our reputation for transparency.
Data Analysis: Review weekly performance metrics (fuel usage, delivery times) to identify trends and areas for operational improvement.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience: 5+ years in Transport Planning, Fleet Allocation, or Logistics Coordination.
Geographic Knowledge: Expert knowledge of the Queensland and Northern NSW road networks, including restrictions and traffic patterns.
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of NHVR regulations, Basic Fatigue Management (BFM), and Chain of Responsibility (CoR).
Tech Savvy: Proficiency with Transport Management Systems (TMS) and GPS tracking software (e.g., Teletrac, MTData, or similar).
Communication: Ability to speak the language of both the boardroom and the loading dock. You can handle high-pressure situations without losing your cool.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $90,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
Benefits:
Health insurance
Professional development assistance
Referral program
Salary packaging
Work Location: In person
