This role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Queensland.
Your Day-to-Day
As a Sales Specialist – Clinical Flow Cytometry at BD, you’ll partner with hospital laboratories and public and private pathology providers to deliver BD’s innovative flow cytometry solutions for clinical applications. Your expertise will help healthcare professionals improve patient outcomes through accurate and timely diagnostics.
Your day will include:
Driving new business and managing a qualified pipeline across instruments, reagents, and software
Coordinating product presentations, demos, and evaluations
Preparing quotations and supporting tenders with pricing packs and technical schedules
Providing pre- and post-sales technical support in collaboration with Applications Specialists
Maintaining regular contact with key users to ensure adoption and reagent pull-through
Capturing customer requirements and coordinating with internal teams for solutions
Keeping CRM records up to date and reporting market intelligence
Representing BD at conferences, workshops, and promotional events
About You
You’re a science professional with a strong understanding of flow cytometry and a passion for helping clinical labs succeed. You’re proactive, customer-focused, and ready to take the next step in your career.
You may also be a Pathology, Clinical or Hospital Scientist looking to make the move across to the commercial landscape.
You’ll bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (Immunology, Hematology, Cell Biology or related)
Experience in flow cytometry within a clinical diagnostic laboratory (essential)
Ideally 1–3 years’ experience in sales or applications support in clinical diagnostic or microbiology sales. Or a Laboratory Scientist with hands-on experience of working with Flow Cytometry wishing to transition to a sales career.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to travel (30–40% across your territory)
Commercial mindset and confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels
Existing relationships within pathology labs
Familiarity with BD clinical flow cytometry solutions
