Job Description

Join our team to achieve your full career potential!

We are proactive, outside the box thinkers and doers who stop at nothing to make the iconic Laura and Melanie Lyne brands shine!
Privately owned and based in Laval, Quebec, with a strong vision for innovation and optimizing the employee and client experiences, we continue to help generations of Canadian women to look and feel their best.

As a Pattern Maker, you will contribute to Laura’s success by designing patterns to produce executable garments that are balanced and proportional to the sketch, and that meet Laura Canada standards.

How will you support the team?

Examine the Technical Designer’s sketches to make sure the garment is feasible and give appropriate feedback when required.
Design a pattern that is balanced, proportional to the sketch and executable by the Production Team ensuring that all details are there (i.e. position of pleats, pockets, etc.) and that Laura Canada standards are met.
Write the specification sheets and sewing guidelines for each sample (size, number, style and explanation regarding the sewing).
Ensure that the sample produced matches the pattern and the original sketch.
Make the appropriate corrections to styles.
Finalize Tech-Packs for imported styles by identifying relevant measuring points and provide the basic measurements for the style and selected fabrics.
Verify preproduction and TOP samples, and report corrections to be made if needed and record them on Tech-Packs.
Ensure that the required corrections from previous verifications have been made on the new samples received.
Be responsible for producing the styles and giving them to the Production Team within lead time.
Respect the approval ratio and achieve the monthly objective of designed patterns.
Keep the workflow list up-to-date at all times.
The people who thrive with us have:
Fashion Design Diploma or diploma in garment techniques
5 years’ experience in pattern design for ladies’ apparel
Proficient knowledge of PAD system
Analytical skills and the ability to work under pressure
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
A positive, proactive and productive approach.
Don't miss this opportunity to join an exceptional team!
